Hello World! 👋🏼 I am Dachi...
I'm a co-founder of Stack Browser, and I have a decade of experience leading operations and managing diverse teams. I'm originally from the Republic of Georgia, but as of now (2023), I'm residing in the beautiful city of Amsterdam with my wife and 9-year-old daughter - Ellie 🤍
I got my B.Sc. in Physics from Tbilisi State University, where at the age of 18, I was also elected as a president of Student Self Government. Unlike the typical student clubs in European or American Universities, the Student Self-Government there was the country's largest and most influential youth organization, boasting a budget of $1.2m, more than 800 members, and 100+ projects annually. The experience involved lots of public speaking as well, which I also enjoyed.
In 2013, I relocated to Germany, where I started my M.Sc. in Economics. While there, I organized the first TEDx Conference in Eastern Germany, which was also an amazing experience. Later, I moved to the beautiful city of Maastricht, the Netherlands, where I did my Ph.D. in Economics at United Nation’s think tank - UNU-Merit.
So my academic background and knowledge gives me confidence in my abilities when working with data and analyzing complex problems.
Four years ago, I started Stack with some extraordinary people, and since then, it has become the focal point of my daily life. At various stages of the company's growth, as a COO, in addition to managing all types of planning and execution tasks, I was in charge of Fundraising and Hiring, and partly acted as a CFO, handling all budgeting, finance, and legal aspects of the company.
In total, I take pride in having successfully raised $5m in seed funding from 11 investors, growing the company from 4 to 19 employees, and building something that is loved by thousands of people all around the world.
But if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I am passionately curious. Every day, I consume tons of information on topics ranging from the latest tech innovations and financial markets to neuroscience, philosophy, and even US politics.
To me, the answer to the “ultimate question” is the one that Plato said - attaining information and knowledge. Why? - Simply because I like that the most of all other options 🙃 And I thoroughly enjoy discussing these topics.
However, I often find myself forgetting a lot of what I learn each day. And I know that the best way to remember anything is to explain it to others. So, with that in mind, I've decided to start my own digital garden, where I'll share my thoughts on topics I find intriguing - mostly for myself but also for anyone who might also find it appealing.
Therefore, if you happen to be reading this, and we share a common interest, I love connecting with like-minded people. So, please, don't hesitate to drop me a line.
